How to Use the Design Wizard

The LearnDash Design Wizard helps site owners begin building a LearnDash website without starting from a blank layout. The wizard provides guided design choices, including starter templates, fonts, and color palettes, to help establish a consistent site design.

The Design Wizard is available for both StellarSites Learning and LearnDash Plugin users. The setup process and steps are the same for both installation types.

Notes:

• Using the Design Wizard will switch your site to a different theme.
• Design changes will apply to your entire site, not just LearnDash pages.
• If your site already has a theme configured, you may choose to skip this feature.
  

The Design Wizard #

After a site is created, the initial setup wizard guides the site owner through basic configuration settings that control how the LearnDash site functions. Once this setup is complete, the process moves directly to the Set Up tab in the dashboard, where the Design Wizard is available.

Step-by-Step Guide to the Design Wizard #

1. Start the Wizard: Click the arrow next to the Design Wizard to get started.
   
   
   
2. Select a Pre-Made Template
   1. Browse the free templates available.
   2. Hover over each option to preview it in full-page view and explore different pages.
   3. Select the template you like and click Next.
      
      
3. Choose Your Fonts
   1. Pick a font from the available options for your website.
   2. Use the Restore icon button to reset styles if needed.
   3. Preview the changes in real-time on the preview window.
   4. Once satisfied, click Next.
      
      
4. Select Color Palettes
   1. Choose a color palette to style buttons, links, and page backgrounds.
   2. Click the Restore icon button to reset styles if needed.
   3. Preview your changes in real time, then click Next when done.
      
      
5. Preview Your Website
   1. A full preview of your site with all selected options will appear.
   2. If you’re happy with the design, click Save & Continue.
   3. To make changes, click the Back button.
      
6. Apply Themes and Plugins
   1. Theming begins automatically on the next screen.
   2. All selected options, including themes, required plugins, and demo data, will be applied.
      
7. Exit or View Your Site. After setup, you can either exit the wizard to return to your dashboard or view your new website immediately.
8. After completion, a Completed label will appear next to the wizard in the Set Up tab.
   
   
9. Customize Your Pages
   1. Visit the pages created from the demo content.
   2. Edit them to fit your needs, including images, text, and other imported content.

Re-running the Wizard #

• Replace example.com with your actual site URL
• If you choose a new theme, it will replace the current theme
• Any content added by the new theme will be separate from your existing content, so no data loss should occur

To be safe, it’s always best to back up your site before rerunning the wizard.
